CREATIVE EDUCATION & COMMUNITY PROJECTS

My work combines art education, community projects, and collaborative workshops developed with children, teenagers, adults, and senior participants in educational and social system. Through creative activities, exhibitions, and group projects, I focus on building supportive spaces where people can learn, participate, communicate, and gain confidence through practical experience.

Over the years, I have coordinated workshops, exhibitions, and long-term creative projects that encouraged structure, teamwork, curiosity, and active involvement. Working with different age groups and social backgrounds, taught me the importance of adaptability, patience, and creating meaningful learning experiences that connect creativity with everyday life.

We regularly organized exhibitions where children and teenagers could present their artworks to friends, families, and visitors. These events encouraged confidence, responsibility, and active participation, while giving participants the opportunity to speak about their creative process and personal ideas.

For many of them, seeing their work displayed publicly and being part of a collective exhibition became an important source of motivation and pride.

Collaborative Community Art Projects

Together with teenagers from the social care system, we developed collaborative mural and window painting projects for spaces dedicated to Ukrainian refugee adolescents attending educational and integration programs. The goal was to transform these shared environments into more welcoming, personal, and supportive spaces for everyday activities and learning.

Participants were directly involved in designing and painting the spaces themselves, encouraging teamwork, responsibility, communication, and active participation. Through these collaborative projects, art became a practical way to connect different social groups and create a stronger sense of belonging and community.

By bringing together adolescents from the social care system, many of whom belonged to minority groups in Romania, and Ukrainian refugee adolescents, we tried to create collaborative spaces where different experiences and cultures could meet through shared creative work.

Working side by side helped build trust, communication, and a stronger sense of inclusion for everyone involved.

Creative Workshops in My Art Studio

In my personal art studio, I organized creative workshops for children and teenagers from the social care system. The studio became a safe and structured space where they could experiment freely, develop practical artistic skills, and express themselves without fear of judgment.

Many of them arrived carrying insecurity, low self-confidence, and fear of making mistakes. Through long-term creative activities, they gradually became more open, patient, and confident in both their artistic process and communication with others.

Receiving approval from the social system to host these workshops in my personal studio allowed me to create a more personal and supportive environment, closer to the feeling of a real creative community and shared everyday life.

We organized an outdoor exhibition in collaboration with the local municipality, presenting artworks created during the workshops for seniors. The event brought participants, families, and members of the community together in a public and welcoming space.

The exhibition celebrated lifelong learning while encouraging social interaction and community engagement through art.

Art, Community, and Creative Aging

In these workshops for retired seniors, participants explored drawing, painting, and different artistic techniques in a relaxed and supportive environment. Sessions included practical exercises, art history references, and creative projects based on observation and reference images.

The focus was on creativity, patience, curiosity, and enjoying the learning process together. These activities encouraged confidence, communication, social interaction, and the development of new artistic skills at any age.

During the COVID-19 period, I coordinated a collaborative outdoor mural project together with senior participants from the Râmnicu Sărat Day Center. Over two months, we worked outdoors during the summer, painting a large fence in the courtyard of the Senior Club.

The project was inspired by the four seasons and different stages of life. Working closely with the participants showed me that age is not necessarily a limitation. With motivation, curiosity, and a flexible mindset, people can continue to learn, adapt, and achieve meaningful things together.

Along side the workshops, I also organized cultural visits and group activities for the seniors participants.

During one of our visits to the interactive art museum MINA, many participants experienced digital and immersive art installations for the first time in there lives. It was inspiring to see how open and interested they remained in discovering new artistic experiences, regardless of age.

Over the nearly six years we worked together, the workshops gradually evolved into a close and supportive group built around both art and shared life experiences. What began as more structured and academic art sessions slowly became more personal, flexible, and adapted to each participant’s personality, interests, and creative rhythm.

Working with senior participants constantly reminded me that people can continue to grow, adapt, and reinvent themselves at any age when curiosity and openness remain alive. Their motivation, life stories, humor, and resilience taught me far more than I could ever teach them, and being part of this group became one of the most meaningful experiences of my professional and personal life.
